DUSTIN'S BIO

Dustin Goodwin was born in Louisville, KY on July 28th, 1997. He is the son of Jeremy and Kim Goodwin and still lives in Louisville.
Music has been a major part of Jeremy, Kim and Dustin’s everyday life. When he was 11 years old, his parents bought him his first guitar; it was a Fender Squire Bullet. This has influenced Dustin to pursue a career in the music industry. Dustin plays Acoustic and Electric Guitar, Bass and recently has been learning to play drums! He has an amazing ability to quickly learn songs and transpose them from various tunings. Influenced by bands like Green Day, Foo Fighters, Paramore and A Day to Remember, Dustin enjoys heavy rhythms and screaming solos.

When Dustin started Rock School at Mom’s Music in January he played Guitar for a band named Alison’s Escape where he met Alison Nelson. Ali joined Beyond Doubt in January as the lead singer. Alison’s Escape played their first gig with Dustin at The Vernon Club in March of 2012. Beyond Doubt also played the same night where Ali sang for both bands. Over the summer of 2012, Matt Purlee (Bass) had to miss several gigs for vacation and a Boy Scout’s trip. Dustin was asked to fill-in for Matt on Bass during his absence. He learned the majority of Beyond Doubt’s set list in less than a month and played multiple gigs with them. The band members seemed to have a good chemistry early on. Dustin was asked to join the band as a Guitarist in July 2012. He gladly accepted and the rest is history in the making!
