ALISON'S BIO

Alison Ayala Nelson was born in Lexington, Kentucky on September 30th, 1996 and raised by Dena and Harry Nelson.  She moved to Louisville in 2000, which is her mom’s hometown.

Ali has always been involved in the arts, whether it was music, dancing, acting, art, or writing.  As a child, she would play dress up, then sing and dance to all kinds of music.

When things got difficult for Alison, music became her escape from the world.  Music helped her express herself, relieve tension and cope with her problems.  She began learning how to play the bass guitar, joined a band at Mom’s Music on Mellwood and became the lead singer of the group, hence the band name Alison’s Escape.  The band won Battle of the Bands People’s Choice Award in Oldham County, has played several venues including Hard Rock Café, Phoenix Hill, & Cherokee Park Hello Summer Festival.

While Alison was in Guitar Center one day, she saw an ad for a teen band that needed a singer.  She decided to call and audition for the part.  It was instant chemistry with Skyler, Austin and Matt.  She takes her music seriously but can have fun, also.

Alison takes vocal lessons at Guitar Center to expand her love for the arts.  She is learning opera, classical music and musical theater in hopes of getting accepted into Louisville’s Youth Performing Arts School.  Alison was an Honor Roll straight A student in Honors Classes all through Middle School.  Even when things were difficult for her, she persevered and received the most improved student award and graduated with good grades.
